NSCAD University Viewbook

In 2013, I had the opportunity to provide the creative direction and design for the NSCAD University 2013 Viewbook and supporting materials.

The design moves away from traditional university viewbook design and instead becomes a sketchbook / guide to NSCAD hybrid with tear-out pages and places to doodle on the pages.

The viewbook design went on to win a Merit award in the category of Annual Reports & Catalogues at the 2014 Ice Awards and Gold in Best Student Recruitment Viewbook at The Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education.

Some pages of the book featured patterned pages designed for tearing out and building 3D forms.

Activity pages emphasized ideation and iteration, one of the principles that can be found within NSCAD.

Other pages are more disciplinary based. Opposite the textiles page, students are encouraged to sketch out their own repeating pattern.
